A quick and delicious beef and broccoli stir-fry made with tender beef strips and crisp broccoli florets in a savory garlic soy sauce. Perfect for a fast weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
4 cups broccoli florets
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, water, grated ginger, and black pepper until smooth. Set aside.
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the sliced beef to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned and just cooked through. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the broccoli.
Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and broccoli and stir well to coat.
Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens and everything is heated through.
Remove from heat and serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles if desired.
