A traditional and delicious pumpkin pie, perfect as a dessert for your turkey dinner. This recipe features a smooth pumpkin filling with warm spices in a flaky pie crust.
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
2 large eggs
1 can (15 ounces) pure pumpkin puree
1 can (12 fluid ounces) evaporated milk
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate and set aside.
In a large bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.
Beat the eggs in a separate bowl.
Add the pumpkin puree and sugar-spice mixture to the beaten eggs and stir until well combined.
Gradually stir in the evaporated milk.
Pour the pumpkin filling into the prepared pie crust.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 40 to 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
Remove the pie from the oven and cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before serving.
