Enjoy perfectly crispy and juicy chicken wings made effortlessly in the air fryer. This recipe yields flavorful wings with a golden-brown exterior and tender meat inside, perfect for a snack or appetizer.
2 pounds chicken wings, tips removed and wings separated into drumettes and flats
1 tablespoon baking powder (aluminum-free)
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
In a large bowl, combine the baking powder, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss thoroughly to coat each wing evenly with the seasoning mixture.
Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not overlap. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Cook the wings at 400°F (200°C) for 12 minutes.
After 12 minutes, open the air fryer and flip each wing over using tongs.
Continue cooking for an additional 12-13 minutes until the wings are golden brown and crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Remove the wings from the air fryer and let them rest for 3-5 minutes before serving.
