Garlic Cabbage and Kale Skillet

A quick and flavorful sautéed garlic cabbage and kale skillet that makes a perfect side dish or light meal. Tender cabbage and kale are cooked with garlic and a hint of seasoning for a healthy and delicious dish.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
4 cups kale, stems removed and chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it begins to soften.
Add the chopped kale to the skillet and continue to cook for another 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the kale is wilted and tender and the cabbage is fully cooked.
Season the vegetables with salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine.
Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the lemon juice over the vegetables. Toss to evenly distribute the lemon juice.
Serve warm as a side dish or a light main course.
