Ingredients

Scale

1 pound lean ground beef (at least 90% lean)
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 cups cooked white rice
2 cups steamed broccoli florets
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, crushed red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Stir until the sugar dissolves and set aside.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked beef and stir well to combine.
Reduce the heat to medium and simmer the beef mixture for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Divide the cooked white rice evenly among four bowls.
Top each bowl of rice with the Korean beef mixture and steamed broccoli florets.
Garnish each bowl with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
Serve immediately.
