A delicious and easy one-pan meal featuring tender beef, flavorful honey garlic sauce, and fluffy rice cooked together in a skillet for a quick and satisfying dinner.
1 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup long grain white rice, rinsed
2 cups beef broth
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 green onions, sliced
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
Drain excess fat from the skillet if necessary.
Add minced garlic to the beef and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in the rinsed rice and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, to lightly toast the rice.
Pour in beef broth, honey, soy sauce, black pepper, and salt. Stir to combine all ingredients.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover the skillet with a lid.
Simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
Fluff the rice with a fork and sprinkle sliced green onions on top before serving.
