These chewy chocolate chip cookies are soft, thick, and packed with melty chocolate chips. Perfect for a classic homemade treat that’s easy to make and irresistibly delicious.
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
Add the vanilla extract, egg, and egg yolk to the butter and sugar mixture. Beat until light and creamy.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers still look soft.
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve and enjoy your chewy chocolate chip cookies!
