Pineapple Glazed Salmon

Pan-seared and oven-baked salmon fillet with a crispy golden brown exterior, brushed with bright yellow pineapple glaze, garnished with thin pineapple wedges and chopped green onions on a white plate.

Salmon fillets pan-seared and oven-baked, brushed with a vibrant pineapple glaze made from pineapple juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Crispy on the outside, moist and flaky inside, served simply on a white plate with pineapple wedges and green onions.

Ingredients

Salmon fillets (6 oz each)
Pineapple juice (1/2 cup)
Brown sugar (2 tablespoons)
Soy sauce (2 tablespoons)
Minced garlic (1 teaspoon)
Grated fresh ginger (1 teaspoon)
Olive oil (1 tablespoon)
Salt (to taste)
Black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a small saucepan, combine pineapple juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated fresh ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
Pat salmon fillets dry and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
Heat olive oil in an ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon fillets skin-side down and sear until the exterior is golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
Flip the fillets and brush generously with the pineapple glaze.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 7-8 minutes, or until salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Remove from oven and brush with more pineapple glaze.
Plate each salmon fillet centered on a white round plate, brush additional glaze on top, and garnish with thin pineapple wedges and chopped green onions.
